    Lee Bo-young memenangkan kontes kecantikan Miss Korea di Daejeon dan Provinsi Chungcheong Selatan di tahun 2000. LBY lulusan Jurusan Sastra Korea di Unversitas Wanita Seoul tadinya bercita-cita untuk menjadi seorang news presenter atau pembawa berita. LBY masuk ke 15 besar finalist di rekruitment MBC di 2002, tetapi tidak berhasil sehingga LBY mencoba modelling dan dia terpilih menjadi model ekslusive untuk maskapai Asiana Airlines​

    Akting debut LBY dimulai di 2003, yakni melalui drama People of the Water Flower Village (2004) ,dan sebagai antagonis di Save the Last Dance for Me (2004). LBY mendapatkan peran utama di drama harian My Sweetheart, My Darling, diikuti drama saeguk bersetting jaman Silla Seo Dong . Selanjutnya berperan di Mr. Goodbye dengan Ahn Jae-wook, Queen of the Game dengan Joo Jin-mo, serta Becoming a Billionaire (aka Birth of the Rich) dengan Ji Hyun-woo -- yang sayangnya kurang mendapat respon.​


    Karier di bidang film dimulai dari peran di My Brother (2004) dan A Dirty Carnival (2006), kemudian LBY tampil sebagai peran utama di film Once Upon a Time (2008). Film komedi yang berseting jaman penjajahan tahun 1940'an bercerita tentang penipu terkenal spesialis berlian yang dicuri dari militer Jepang.
    Film selanjutnya di tahun 2009 bertemakan melodrama. In More Than Blue (aka A Story Sadder Than Sadness), bersama Kwon Sang-woo dan Lee Beom-soo. Kontradiksi dengan judul film LBY selanjutnya yakni I Am Happy, LBY adalah seorang perawat yang jatuh cinta pada pasien di bagian kejiwaan (Hyun Bin), keduanya menemukan hiburan di antara realita kehidupan mereka yang keras dan menyedihkan.​

    2010 LBY mulai kembali ke dramaland, bermain sebagai penggoda di drama tivi kabel Harvest Villa . Serta sempat berperan pula sebagai putri presiden di serial Athena: Goddess of War, kemudian lewat drama romantis bercerita tentang paska perceraian Hooray for Love (aka A Thousand Affections, 2011) dengan Lee Tae-sung. LBY juga ikut di drama bertema pembalasan dendam Man from the Equator (2012) dengan Uhm Tae-woong.​

    Selanjutnya lewat drama My Daughter Seo-young, LBY menjadi seorang wanita karir yang marah kepada ayahnya yang gila judi (Chun Ho-jin) sehingga membuat ibunya meninggal, she struggles to keep the family together and make ends meet. LBY berkata memerankan Seo-young membutuhkan kedalaman emosi yang paling mendalam dibanding peran-peran terdahulu, sehingga selain membuat LBY lebih menguras emosi serta menimbulkan pencapaian yang fenomenal sepanjang karir LBY hingga sekarang.
    [highlight] Drama My Daughter Seo-young mendominasi rating mingguan selama 22 minggu berturut-turut, dan mencatatkan rating tertinggi sebesar 47.6% di akhir episode, rating tertinggi untuk K-Drama selama taun 2013 sampai saat ini.[/highlight]​

    Series selanjutnya yakni I Can Hear Your Voice (2013) juga amat populer. LBY berperan sebagai pengacara publik yang materialistis dan di masa lalunya sempat bersaksi untuk Lee Jong-suk yang ayahnya dibunuh. Kritikus berkata dengan karakter LBY yang keras kepala dan pandai berargumen telah membuktikan bahwa LBY dapat keluar dari imej LBY terdahulu sebagai karakter yang tenang dan elegan.​

    LBY bertemu dengan aktor Ji Sung pada 2004 di tempat syuting serial Save Last Dance for Me, dan mereka menkonfirmasikan hubungannya di 2007. Pada 2 Agustus 2013, LBY dan JS mengumumkan pertunangan mereka lewat akun fans resmi dengan mencantumkan surat tulisan tangan. Dan pada 27 September 2013 yang lalu LBY dan JS resmi menjadi suami istri lewat resepsi di Aston House, W Seoul Walkerhill. ​

    Actor Ji Sung and actress Lee Bo Young announced that they were tying the knot earlier this month, but it wasn't until their recent trip to Spain that Ji Sung proposed!

    On the latest 'One Night of TV Entertainment', reporter*Oh Jong Suk*headed to Spain to cover the couple's wedding photo shoot. He revealed,"I was jealous of how they really took care of each other. The pictures came out so well that anyone would want theirs to be the same. The wife-to-be was pretty, and they looked happy."

    The two tied the knot during a private ceremony in front of 200 friends and family on September 27 at 6 PM KST at Seoul's Walker Hill Hotel. The theme of the wedding ceremony was inspired by the story 'Le Petit Prince' or 'The Little Prince' and had a romantic atmosphere. The photos show Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young sharing their first kiss as husband and wife and Ji Sung even singing a congratulatory song for Lee Bo Young\

    Lee Bo-yeong wins big at TV drama awards

    Actress Lee Bo-yeong was the biggest winner at the 2013 Korea Drama Awards on Wednesday, which took placed in Jinju, South Gyeongsang.

    Two of Lee's dramas came away with awards, SBS's hit*"I Hear Your Voice"*and KBS's "My Daughter Seo-young", which recorded the best ratings of any drama this year.

    "2013 is a lucky year for me", said Lee.*

    "I was so fortunate to play two characters I really love and did not want to let go of even after the end of the drama. I'm also thankful that audiences recognized the effort I put into acting".

    It was the first time for Lee to make a public appearance since her wedding to actor*Ji Seong*last week.

    "As we become a family, I think we need to show some synergy effect, and I think I have taken a good step by receiving such an award", she added.*

    "It's been only few days since I got married, but I feel more relaxed. So now I'm expecting that I will have a wider choice of roles in the future". She says she will consider starting another program after the winter.*

    setau saya LBY udah dapet penghargaan KBS Drama Awards di tahun 2012, Best Couple (MDSY) sama Excellence Actrees (TEM).
    mungkin peraturan di KBS, drama yang masuk nominasi tahun tersebut adalah drama yang mulai tayang di tahun tsb.
    berhubung MDSY mulai tayang di th 2012, jadi ga masuk nominasi di tahun 2013 *CMIIW

    btw, congrats Bo Young unnie for the Daesang Awards :cheers::cheers:
