    1897 AWAL MULA

Itulah kira-kira kisah awal terbentuknya Juventus, walau kisahnya sedikit kurang jelas, mungkin dikarenakan markas Canfari bersaudara di 42 Corso Re Umberto, tempat awal pertemuan memang sangat gelap.;.

    Pre-season countdown underway

Juventus are gearing up to return to action after the 2012/13 campaign officially began on Sunday 1 July.

Antonio Conte’s men will enjoy a few more well-earned days of rest before embarking on their pre-season programme. This gets underway on Thursday 12 July at the team’s training base in Châtillon/Saint-Vincent.

The Bianconeri, who will conduct intense morning and afternoon workouts in Val d’Aosta, are set to be without the eight Azzurri internationals who ended their Euro 2012 adventure in last night’s final against Spain.

Three friendly fixtures will be contested before the team’s scheduled return to Turin on Monday 23 July.

A local side from the Val d’Aosta region provide Juve’s first opposition on Tuesday 17 July at the Saint-Vincent Stadium. This test will then be followed by two 45-minute matches against Milan and Inter in the TIM Trophy, to be played in Bari on Saturday 21 July.

Asamoah and Isla move to Juventus

Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that the following agreements have been finalised with Udinese Calcio S.p.A.:

    - definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Kwadwo Asamoah for a consideration of € 18 million to be paid in 3 years. At the same time, Juventus and Udinese signed a player sharing agreement (ex art. 102 bis N.O.I.F.) related to the same player for a consideration of € 9 million to be paid by Udinese in 3 years;

    - definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Mauricio Anibal Isla for a consideration of € 18.8 million to be paid in 3 years. At the same time, Juventus and Udinese signed a player sharing agreement (ex art. 102 bis N.O.I.F.) related to the same player for a consideration of € 9.4 million to be paid by Udinese in 3 years;

    - definitive disposal of the registration rights of the player Cristian Pasquato for a consideration of € 3 million to be paid in 3 years. At the same time, Juventus and Udinese signed a player sharing agreement (ex art. 102 bis N.O.I.F.) related to the same player for a consideration of € 1.5 milion to be paid by Juventus in 3 years. The operation generates for the financial year 2012/2013 a positive economic effect of about € 1.5 million.

Two further transfers involving youngsters from the club’s youth academy have also been concluded today:

    - Defender Nazareno Belfasti, born in 1993, has joined Modena on loan
    - Goalkeeper Timothy Nocchi, born in 1990, has moved to Juve Stabia on a loan deal with the option to purchase half of his registration rights

    Asamoah, quality in abundance

Kwadwo Asamoah joins Juventus with a reputation as one of the rising stars of world football.

The switch signals a return to Piedmont for the 23-year-old, who was immediately loaned out to Torino after signing for Swiss outfit AC Bellinzona in 2008.

Asamoah’s talent soon attracted the attentions of Udinese, with the midfielder making a loan move permanent following some eye-catching displays at the Stadio Friuli.

His physical presence, all-action style and versatility played a crucial part in earning Udinese a place in the Champions League qualifiers.

Asamoah took his impressive form onto the international stage, forming part of Ghana’s strong 2010 World Cup campaign.

He will be the second Ghanaian to don the black and white stripes after Stephen Appiah’s two-year stint with the club between 2003 and 2005.

    Isla, a formidable force

Mauricio Isla has long been regarded as one of South America’s most exciting prospects since bursting onto the scene with Udinese back in 2007.

The 24-year-old international combines accomplished technique with an impressive engine, qualities which led the Zebrette to capture his signature shortly after the World Under-20 championships.

Initially a forward, it was Universidad Católica who first spotted Isla’s potential, with the Santiago-based outfit promptly deciding his talents would be better suited to the wing-back position.

His strong, attacking performances also caught the eye of international coach Marcelo Bielsa, who handed him his debut in 2007, despite not having yet made a league appearance for his new club.

In five seasons with Udinese, the Chilean occupied a variety of roles across defence and midfield, making a total 151 appearances and finding the target on seven occasions.

He will now link up with fellow countryman Arturo Vidal, adding extra dynamism and industry to the Bianconeri cause.

    ItalJuve, Euro 2012 statistics

During the Azzurri’s stay in Poland and Ukraine, the Juventus international contingent, who formed the backbone of Cesare Prandelli’s side, added to their number of appearances in the blue and white shirt. And for certain Bianconeri this meant passing important milestones.

The six appearances made by Gianluigi Buffon, an ever-present in Italy’s run to the final, allowed him to edge even closer to the two most capped Azzurri: Fabio Cannavaro (136) and Paolo Maldini (126.) Out of these 120 appearances, Gigi managed to cross the 100-cap barrier since becoming a Juventus player in 2001.

Giorgio Chiellini’s speedy recovery from a thigh injury sustained in Italy’s final Group C game against Republic of Ireland reaped rewards for the committed defender. His total of five appearances saw him pass the 50-cap mark as a Juventus player. In total, including the five games played whilst at Fiorentina, he has appeared for the national side on 55 occasions, putting him level with Bianconeri legends Romeo Benetti and Mauro German Camoranesi.

The six appearances made by Andrea Pirlo took his quota to 15 since completing a free transfer move from Milan last summer. His total of 89 games places him eighth in the list of all-time Azzurri appearances, just two caps behind Alessandro Del Piero.

Another ever-present in Italy’s impressive campaign was midfielder Claudio Marchisio. The 26 caps earned by the Bianconeri’s dynamic number eight are enough to put him level with Carlo Ancelotti and overtake Pietro Anastasi, who was part of the only Italian European Championship success back in 1968.

Leonardo Bonucci’s assured displays at the heart of the Azzurri rearguard lifted him to a total of 20 caps, with 18 of these gained whilst at Juventus. Defensive partner Andrea Barzagli managed to shake off an injury scare to feature in four fixtures, increasing his number of appearances to 33.

Emanuele Giaccherini’s inclusion in the squad capped off a remarkable season for the versatile winger. He brought industry and determination to the Azzurri cause in their opening group games against Spain and Croatia.

New arrival Sebastian Giovinco, who completed his return to Juventus during the course of the tournament, came off the bench twice in the group stages, boosting his total number of international appearances to ten.

Leali joins Juventus: “A dream come true”

Nicola Leali has completed a switch to Juventus after an agreement was reached with Brescia for the goalkeeper’s permanent transfer.

The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal which expires on 30 June 2017.

“It’s a dream come true,” said Leali. “Joining such a prestigious club at my age is extremely gratifying and a great motivation to keep developing further. Being part of the same club as a champion like Gigi Buffon is hugely satisfying, but it also makes me realise how much I’ll have to work for the opportunity to repay the trust placed in me.”

Leali’s signing represents a further addition to the club’s promising pool of talent. After rising through the Rondinelle youth ranks, he made his Serie A debut against Cesena on 15 May 2011. His sharp reflexes and good positioning immediately caught the eye, prompting 16 further appearances over the course of the club’s Serie B campaign.

    Bradley flattered by Roma interest

A flattered Michael Bradley’s agent has admitted that he is in talks with Roma about a possible deal for the American.

Reports over the weekend saw Chievo confirm that the Giallorossi were one of a number of clubs in talks with them over a move for the versatile midfielder, in light of an impressive Serie A debut season in 2011-12.

The Mussi Volanti claimed that Inter and Juventus are also monitoring the player, something that his agent also suggested might be the case, presenting a choice that has Bradley blushing.

“Michael is excited by about the interest from Roma - it’s always nice to be a player associated with a club as renowned as that from the capital,” Alberto Faccini told Radio Calciomercato.

“But, it is an enthusiasm that he has for similar interest from other clubs who are following him.”

One club that he is rumoured to not have enthusiasm for is Fiorentina, but Faccini looked to put the record straight.

“Did he refuse La Viola? There was a chat with sporting director [Daniele] Prade, who expressed an interest in the player and when I spoke to Michael he was flattered. We have never rejected Fiorentina.

“Roma are very interested in the player, but ds Walter Sabatini and Chievo will have to agree something.

“Monaco? Bradley felt that he could not go and play in the French second division after a season as positive as the last one had just passed.”

“I cannot hide that I have already spoken with Coach Zdenek Zeman about him - Zeman appreciates the boy greatly. But, I had spoken to Sabatini about him before Zeman became Roma Coach.

“His best position on the pitch? Certainly he can be considered an ideal candidate for the midfield three, where he can play the role of internal right or central midfield.”

    Official: Isla, Asamoah to Juventus

Juventus have confirmed the double signing of Udinese midfielders Mauricio Isla and Kwadwo Asamoah, both on co-ownership agreements.

Terms for such a deal were reached a few weeks ago, with both versatile midfielders then soon after having medicals in Turin.

The Bianconeri have now confirmed both players’ arrivals at the club, with publication on their official website of the finer points to the transfers.

For 50 per cent of 24-year-old Isla's contract, Juve have paid €9.4m, whilst 50 per cent of 23-year-old Asamoah’s registration has cost them €9m.

Also as part of the deal, youngster Cristian Pasquato has moved in the opposite direction on a co-ownership basis, for a fee of €1.5m.

Asamoah is the second Ghanaian to play for the Old Lady, after Stephen Appiah, whilst Isla links up with international colleague Arturo Vidal at the Juventus Stadium.

    Official: Amauri returns to Parma

Parma have re-signed former Juventus striker Amauri, marking a return for the player to the club he spent 2010-11 on loan at.

The Brazilian-born forward, who has been capped once for Italy, was available on a free transfer this summer after finishing a six-month spell with Fiorentina.

Linked with a number of clubs, it is the Ducali who have captured the 32-year-old, who in 2011 scored seven times from 11 appearances whilst in Emilia-Romagna.

“Parma announce today that it has completed an agreement with Brazilian striker Amauri, who returns to wear the shirt after his crucial contribution made in the 2010-11 season,” read a statement on the Gialloblu’s official website.

“The player has signed a two-year contract with Parma, with the option for a third year. Amauri will be officially presented to the Press on Tuesday July 3.

“Parma hopes that many fans will want to come and say hello at the stadium and show him their love and enthusiasm for his return in yellow and blue!”

    No-one could afford Verratti

Pescara’s President Daniele Sebastiani has revealed that the main reason his club did not sell Marco Verratti is because of a lack of money in Serie A.

The highly-rated creative midfielder was the subject of negotiation for the Delfini owner with both Juventus and Napoli, but in the end was taken off the market.

Citing a lack of credible finance to any proposals made, Sebastiani hinted that the player may well end up moving abroad a year from now as a result.

“In this market they [Serie A clubs] are not running with a lot of money,” the President told Il Centro.

“So far, all we have had proposed for Verratti has been player exchanges. The only plausible hypothesis would be a good offer from abroad.

“We’ll see what happens. Right now, Marco is happy here and next year we can find clubs that will pay twice as much.”

    Official: Ferrara new Samp Coach

Ciro Ferrara is Sampdoria’s new Coach to lead them on their return to Serie A, replacing Beppe Iachini in the position.

The former Napoli and Juventus defender, who also had a brief and unsuccessful spell as Coach of the Bianconeri, has been confirmed today as the man tasked with keeping Samp in the top flight, upon their return after a year in Serie B.

The news, which was inevitable after FIGC President Giancarlo Abete confirmed his release as Coach of the Italy Under-21s, was made official via a statement published on Sampdoria’s official website this Monday evening.

“Sampdoria announces that it has reached an agreement, which will be formalised in the coming days, with Ciro Ferrara in the capacity of head Coach for the first team.

“The company wishes to thank Giuseppe Iachini and his staff for their excellent and successful work done in recent months, culminating in promotion to Serie A.

“Sampdoria give their best wishes to Iachini and his staff and the best professional and personal fortune for the rest of their careers.”

Iachini was given an automatic extension to his contract for succeeding in taking the club back to Serie A, via the Serie B play-offs last term.

However, the club’s directors have been in talks with a number of candidates since the start of the summer, believed to be because of a lack of faith in Iachini’s ability to lead the team forward.

    Lucio moves closer to Juve

Lucio could put pen to paper on a contract with champions Juventus on Tuesday after he was released by Inter.

The Brazilian stopper had his Nerazzurri contracted rescinded on Friday and, after strong links with Fenerbahce and Malaga, he’s set to move to Turin.

Juventus will pick up the centre-back, now 34, on a free transfer in a move which is being likened to their swoop for Andrea Pirlo last summer.

The Old Lady were looking for a new defender and Lucio is a cheaper option than Zenit’s Bruno Alves and Mats Hummels of Borussia Dortmund.

Lucio, signed by Inter in 2009 from Bayern Munich, will join fellow centre-backs Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli at the club.

The former Bayer Leverkusen man wants a two-year deal in Turin, but talks are still taking place regarding his salary.

Juventus are offering an agreement worth €2.2m which could rise depending on the activation of bonus clauses, while Lucio is looking for a basic salary closer to €3m.

    Quagliarella expects long, busy season

Fabio Quagliarella has admitted that Juventus will be facing a testing season given their return to the Champions League.

The Old Lady enjoyed a stellar 2011-12 campaign by winning the Scudetto without losing a game and reaching the Final of the Coppa Italia. That, though, was all achieved without European competition.

“I’ll soon start to train on my own ahead of the new term,” the forward told Sky Sport Italia. “Then the serious work will start in pre-season when the squad meets up.

“It’ll be a long campaign, there will be the Champions League and therefore the hope that we can do well on all fronts.

“However, that means that we would be playing every three days and it certainly won’t be easy to do that.”

The 28-year-old scored four goals in 28 League games for the Old Lady during the last campaign.

    Pirlo believes in Prandelli’s Italy

Italy playmaker Andrea Pirlo is delighted that national boss Cesare Prandelli has opted to continue his adventure with the side.

The tactician signed a four-year contract with the Federation following the 2010 World Cup, but he did consider stepping down after Euro 2012.

“Given what he was saying, it seemed as if he had a few doubts about his future,” the Juventus man told Sky Sport Italia.

“But we all knew that he wanted to create a new squad, with a new brand of football, and it would have been horrible to leave after reaching an unexpected Final.

“Now we are even more sure that we can do well with him.”

The Azzurri finished the championship as runners-up – the 4-0 loss to Spain perhaps taking away some of the shine from their tournament.

“There is bitterness about the Final which we lost badly, but we know that we did all that was possible,” the 33-year-old added. “We were very tired and playing against a great side.

“We played some good football and we went all the way to the last game, but we had a bad day. Spain too, after a few games played below their usual standard, gave it their best and caused us problems.”

The former Milan man had an outstanding tournament where he made a claim to lift the next Ballon d’Or.

“I don’t believe that I can win the Golden Ball,” he admitted. “For as long as there are Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and others around, it is right that they win it.”

    Buffon: No Balotelli clash

Italy captain Gigi Buffon has rubbished reports that he clashed with Mario Balotelli after the Euro 2012 Final.

Reports today claimed that the two men had an angry exchange at the end of Sunday’s 4-0 loss to Spain.

The Juventus custodian, however, has today taken to his Facebook page to condemn the speculation by insisting nothing happened between the duo.

The Manchester City striker angrily walked down the tunnel at the end of the game, but did re-appear to collect his medal.

    Juventus confirm Leali swoop

Nicola Leali says he has fulfilled a dream after Juventus announced his capture on a long-term deal from Brescia.

The 19-year-old, who has cost the Old Lady €3.8m, has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Bianconeri.

“It’s a dream come true,” the goalkeeper told the outfit’s official website. “Joining such a prestigious club at my age is extremely gratifying and a great motivation to keep developing further.

“Being part of the same club as a champion like Gigi Buffon is hugely satisfying, but it also makes me realise how much I’ll have to work for the opportunity to repay the trust placed in me.”

It is believed that the young custodian will immediately be loaned out given that Buffon and Marco Storari would be ahead of him in the pecking order for 2012-13.
